Well, it may not be the FBI checking into your neighbors or some scary criminal trying to spy out a place to burgle. It could just be Royal Crown Roofing inspecting one of your neighbor’s roofs. We may not be used to seeing this in the Houston area, but it’s actually been around a couple of years.
They use their 4k camera quality drone technology for high-resolution inspections of both home and commercial building roofs. The old conventional way of doing roof inspections by walking around for hours on the roof is being replaced by these unmanned flying machines.
Roofing is considered to be one of the most dangerous jobs around and having the assistance of drones in doing inspections is a much-needed innovation. Not only is it safer, but it reduces the insurance costs for an inspection and saves on time and costs involved.
Using drones also makes inspection results available more quickly. It takes only about 10 to 15 minutes for the drone to do the inspection and send the detailed aerial photography and video that identifies any problems to the roofer’s computer. The old way of doing inspections could take an entire day or more if the roof is very complicated.
After giving you a report of the damage on the roof, Royal Crown roofing experts will help you in making plans for the repair or replacement of the roof, plus they will help you fill out your insurance claim. Contact them for more information.

So what happens if some night, the wind blows fiercely, and a branch falls on your roof right over your bedroom, and you expect rain? You might push everything in the room away from the gaping hole in the ceiling and then grab a tarp (if you have one) and cover everything all up—including the bed, so you can’t sleep in it that night, of course. Maybe you get large pans from the kitchen to catch the rain when it comes. You think about climbing up onto the roof to try to cover the hole, but you wisely rule that out.
All kinds of emergencies come to us throughout life and we aren’t always prepared or able to take care of what needs to be done. A fire, a tornado, a hurricane, a windstorm that knocks branches or even a tree on your house can each cause immense damage, costing thousands of dollars.
What you need is someone to show up as quickly as possible to take care of the problem. Contact Royal Crown Roofing to come to the rescue the first thing the next morning. Their experienced team will inspect the damage–at no charge–and come up with a plan to repair it.

Your roof may be the key to a comfortable summer when the triple-digit heat is upon us. When the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays beat down on our homes and heat builds up in our roofs and attics, lasting damage can be done and it may not be apparent until it’s extensive.
Unless you have lots of shade trees around your home, your roof is unprotected from the intense heat. When the temperature gauge says the temperature is over a hundred degrees, your roof’s temperature is significantly higher—maybe up to 30 to 40 degrees higher. Imagine what that does to your comfortable home, when the roof weakens and no longer protects you from the heat. Your energy bill will skyrocket.
If the roof is reaching the end of its life—10 to 15 years in our climate—you won’t keep cool no matter how much you spend on air conditioning. Because of these high temperatures, high humidity, and the sun’s UV rays, our Houston roofs show damage much more quickly than more moderate parts of the USA. That means a shorter lifespan and more frequent replacement.
You need a free inspection! Royal Crown Roofing’s experts wait to hear from you and will schedule an appointment to evaluate the condition of your roof and determine where to go from there.

Whoever said that wasn’t telling the truth. It was sweltering last summer here in the Houston area, but most of us have heard that Death Valley, California, is the hottest place on Earth. And all our rain doesn’t compare with Mawsynrami, India, which is the rainiest place on Earth. But Houston does have interesting weather with its average 90-days-per-year of precipitation, 205 sunny days, average high temperature of 93ᐤ and humidity average level of 75. With all of that, along with our hurricanes, wind, and hail; our roofs and gutters take a lot of beatings.
Gutters and downspouts perform years of faithful protection against all kinds of weather for our Houston area homes, but eventually they need replacement. So how do you know when it’s time?
Here are a few hints:
If your gutters have large, extensive holes, cracks, rust spots, or damage to the seams that connect sections of the gutters, it can mean leaks both outside and inside your home. Leaking gutters also cause peeling and bubbling up of excess moisture under the paint on siding and wood trim, eventually leading to rotting of the wood and mildew damage to your home. They can also destroy the landscaping close to the house.
If you have noticed any of these problems, it’s probably time to replace the gutter and downspout system. Royal Crown Roofing can help you figure out what to do next. Let them help you.

Spring means high winds, wind-borne debris, and lashing rainstorms are on the way with hurricane season. Our roofs are in danger. Hopefully, no unwelcome floods will destroy our landscapes, too.
Preparation is the key. Even small leaks can expand into disastrous ones in heavy rain and wind storms. What seems like a small problem with your roof today can expand into a huge one and even bring a need for a new roof.
Getting a roof inspection will detect any weaknesses in your roofing structure. Fixing them is what Royal Crown Roofing does to protect you this hurricane season and in the future. We may only have to replace a rubber gasket, repair flashings or a few damaged shingles—but if they are not taken care of promptly, it may mean an entirely new roof is in the works for the near future.
Regular inspections and maintenance of your roof also include checking out the insulation materials inside the roof, which prevents mold from growing inside it and water from seeping into your house. Any weakness in the insulation will reduce your roof’s effectiveness in protecting you, your family, and your property from the elements.
Royal Crown Roofing’s trained project managers will be glad to help you with a full inspection and any repairs that are needed. Contact them soon!

An interesting range of critters, birds, and a variety of insects may be living on your roof. Squirrels, raccoons, and opossums all love to hang out on roofs, burrowing into them, and seeking to create homes. Birds, bats, and insects like to nest in troublesome areas like roof vents, blocking the flow of air into and out of the attic spaces that protect the roof during extreme weather and temperatures. We can all love nature without wanting it to live inside our homes.
You might be thinking that you have never seen an animal scampering across your roof, but some dark night when you are up visiting your attic, you might just hear little feet pitter-patter on the roof. And they aren’t reindeer feet. But, if you don’t hear them, realize it’s not likely you will. These visitors are sneaky at being unobserved and unheard, and they may just move into your attic when you aren’t looking.
As for insects, they are less noticeable. Wasps and hornets are known to build nests inside shingles. Bees have hollowed out sections of roofs, intending to build hives. And of course, there are the dreaded termites that eat away at your roof’s timber.
All of these visitors to your roof need tending to unless you want a full-roof replacement. Royal Crown Roofing recommends you get a roof inspection to seek out any problems and take care of them early. Contact them for their expert advice.
